We have been using Twitter and WordPress for a while.

Keeping track of all the plugins, tools, tips etc was starting to become a nightmare.

This site is essentially a summary of all we have found so far.

The Twitter phenomenon

You may have heard a lot of hype about twitter.
Well for one i was skeptical of the value of twitter to marketing.
A few of my friends however have been using twitter since day dot and swear by it.

Why i started paying attention to twitter

Recently we were testing a new site and wanted to get some feedback, normally i would email a select group of people and over a day or two (with some gentle prodding) the feedback would trickle in. My friend has several twitter profiles and one if these profiles aligned with the site.

“Just a sec” he said. “I will just tweet the url”.

Twitter gets Results

140 characters and 20 minutes later. 10% of the followers had visited the link and we had several tweets with suggestions and feedback.

Now that’s fast. We cut two days off our launch time.

In other tests we got mixed results but at worst we were getting 6% response rates in minutes.

The implications of twitter

This doesn’t sound that impressive but, consider this, We were able to get these response rates sending more than 1 message per day.

Now that is useful.

Our experience

Increasing the frequency did not reduce responses (yes it was a targeted list)
Increased the frequency means more opportunities to convert per day…

Which prompted me to have a much closer look at twitter i can tell you.

Thus TwitterWP.com was created

This is not a membership site or anything like that.

It is a collection of some of the tools we have used and where you can get them. Many are free.
