A very easy to use plugin for getting your blog updates onto your twitter profile.

The WP-to-Twitter plugin posts a Twitter status update from your blog using the Cli.gs URL shortening service to provide a link back to your post from Twitter.

New in version 1.3.5:

* Bug fix: when “Send link to Twitter” is disabled, Twitter status and shortcodes were not parsed correctly.

If you have a Cli.gs API key, the shortened URL will also be filed in your Cli.gs account so that you can track statistics for the shortened URL.

The description from his site says

“The plugin can send a default message for updating or editing posts or pages, but also allows you to write a custom Tweet for your post which says whatever you want. By default, the shortened URL from Cli.gs”.

Like to say we had something to do with it but this was before twitterwp.com was around.

Some time ago his hosting stopped working. But never fear hongxiaowan rescued the files and put them on code.google.com/p/twitterwp.

As the screenshot below indicates this theme is a pretty good clone of the twitter.com site.

It’s a very clean, elegant and simple theme, the major thing you will notice here is that the comment textarea comes before the comments itself just like Twitter.

The unique thing about this theme is that it enables you to create a “Socialize” page,

You can view on the test site, so that people can leave you random thoughts, just like on Twitter.

The exception being they will just be targeted towards your blog and whatever topic you pick.
